Miss Berke’s Tutoring
Hi, I’m Christina — a published writer, trauma-informed educator, and the founder of Write Now, an online writing workshop space.
With over a decade of experience teaching writing and creating curriculum, I’ve worked with everyone from preschoolers to grandparents in public, private, charter, collegial and 1:1 settings within my community and internationally. I was honored to be one of Yelp’s Top 10 Tutors with K-12 reading students consistently averaging 2 years of growth within 6 months. My experience also includes working as a teacher-librarian for one of the nation's largest school districts and developing lessons as curriculum designer for start-ups.
🎓 My background includes:
An MFA in Creative Writing and an M.Ed. in Education from UCLA
15+ years teaching creative writing at universities, private schools, and nonprofits
Awards from Clint Harper Teacher's Award, the Ventura County Retired Teachers Association, the Latina Leadership Network, and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Women Educators
International experience in places like Seoul, Korea and Mumbai, India
Certification in trauma-informed pedagogy and student-centered practices
Running beloved writing workshops for all ages
I'm so glad you're here!
