An avid bookworm, I've always loved weekly trips to the library and writing short stories. As I got older, I realized how passionate I was about helping others discover this joy too.
I taught middle school English in south Los Angeles for several years, then worked as a librarian, as well as an adjunct professor. Afterwards, I lived in New York City where I worked with many students from all over the world as a tutor. Then I pursued teaching abroad in South Korea and China, where I worked with elementary and middle school students. Teaching allows me the chance to give back to my community through a way that motivates me best: learning and connecting with people.
My goal in education is to empower students to become confident learners. To that end, I emphasize critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication in addition to problem-solving skills.
Tutoring sessions are a place for all types of learners, and I work hard to establish a positive rapport. My teaching style is student-centered and hands-on, including relevant examples and real world learning.
Looking forward to learning more about you and your educational goals!
